This class is an introduction to fashion business. We learned about the importance of customer/shop reports.
At the beginning of the class, our tutor ask us a question “who is the most important person in fashion?” And the answer is “the customer “. Honestly I thought the answer is Anna Wintour or maybe Kanye Wast:). But “the customer” is a much better answer… I think as an artist if I say so myself, sometimes I get cared away by what I what to express or my feelings in my works and people just can not understand it. Remember that you are creating for the people is very important for a designer. Then we did customer reports, and I actually have my own opinion on that. I think that we can not just think customers as one single individual, and then tell what he might be into based on how he look. In my own experience, customers come in groups. Specially with social medias these day, it is very easy for people to find the style they are into. Perhaps instead thinking about what kind things a customer will like, ask what group of customers are the brand targeting is more important. Emm.. I guess that is brand report..anyway customer reports are still fun. Finally, we did a shop report. I have went to a lot of shops in my life, and two of that I love the most are Chrome Hearts and Lelabo. As soon as I stop my foot in the shop I know I was going to by something. Also we did a group work. I used to be afraid of group works because I was kind nervous to speak English. But its ok for me, and I can feel my English improving:).
